Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (40 hours/week)

Salary: $70,000- $73,000

The Building Maintenance Instructor develops and delivers hands-on training that prepares adult learners for careers in building maintenance. This role combines classroom instruction, curriculum development, and student support to help participants gain technical skills, industry certifications, and workplace readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging building maintenance training courses to adult learners.
  • Develop, maintain, and update curriculum, lesson plans, assessments, and program materials.
  • Use a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, hands-on activities, group projects, role-play, and field experiences.
  • Adapt instruction to meet the needs of learners with varying skill levels.
  • Prepare students for industry-recognized credential exams and ensure eligible learners are tested on schedule.
  • Support a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of building maintenance experience in a residential or apartment setting.
  • Certification in Electrical, Carpentry, HVAC, or Plumbing required.
  • Knowledge of maintenance operations and OSHA requirements.
  • Strong teaching, communication, presentation, and supervisory skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
